Cesar Augusto Guimarães Pereira
 

Cesar Pereira has been involved as presiding arbitrator or co-arbitrator in several cases under domestic rules such as CAM-CCBC, CAMARB and ARBITAC comprising subject matters such as PPPs, government concessions, construction, M&A and commercial contracts. Has has acted as counsel in international arbitrations at the ICDR (New York) under UNCITRAL rules and in ad hoc arbitration under ICC rules, as well as in numerous domestic cases under the most commonly applied domestic rules in Brazil. He has been retained as counsel by Brazilian federal government entities under single source contracts for specialized legal work. He has been involved in the capacity of president of an arbitral institution (CAMFIEP) in several arbitral proceedings, resolving various procedural issues. In the 2013-2014 school year, he was a visiting scholar at the international arbitration department of Columbia University, with residency at law school in New York City from September 2013 to January 2014, under the supervision of Professor George Bermann. He has also successfully undertaken the CIArb Fellowship assessment in May 2013, having become an FCIArb later in 2013. He was further admitted to the CIArb Approved Faculty List (AFL) as tutor. He is a course leader at SiLS – Swiss International Law School in the module of Dispute Resolution, being in charge of tutoring international students in 18 sessions per semester covering the most important aspects of international dispute resolution. He has published and spoken extensively on dispute resolution involving state parties, and his most recent areas of academic interest comprise dispute resolution in art transactions and related substantive law issues.
