Peter Chow

Peter Chow is a partner of Squire Patton Boggs, a US international law firm with offices in 21 countries.  He leads the firm’s world-ranked International Dispute Resolution and Arbitration practice in Asia-Pacific. He handles disputes related to oil and gas, energy and natural resources, infrastructure and construction projects, international trade, and general commerce.  Peter has acted as counsel in numerous cases, including those involving ICC, HKIAC, SIAC, CIETAC, ICDR, AAA and UNCITRAL arbitration rules.  He has been involved in some of the largest arbitrations in Asia, involving multi-billion dollar claims.

Peter is a Chartered Arbitrator and is on the panels of arbitrators in a number of countries.  He is the Chair of the IPBA Energy & Resources Committee and was Vice-President of the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators. He is on the Editorial Board of LexisNexis Practical Guidance publication and a Member of ICC (Hong Kong) Arbitrator Nomination Sub-Committee and Member to the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. Peter is a contributing author of several authoritative books on arbitration and litigation and is active in the international speaking circuit on the subjects of arbitration and construction. 

Peter has been recognized as a “litigation star” by Benchmark Litigation Asia-Pacific, by Euromoney Guide to the World's Leading Experts in Commercial Arbitration and by Asia-Pacific Legal 500 in the area of international arbitration.  Under Peter’s leadership, Squire Patton Boggs was awarded Acquisition International Oil & Gas Disputes Law Firm of the Year, Hong Kong and Lawyer Monthly Dispute Resolution Law Firm of the Year, Hong Kong and appointed to the Chinese government (MOFCOM) inaugural law firm panels for international investment and trade disputes.
